At Passage Rock we offer one of Waiheke’s most extensive ranges of island grown wines. Our range includes Chardonnay, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, two styles of Merlot Cabernet and one of New Zealands finest Syrahs. Our wines are made from selected ripe grapes expressing the very best of the season, crafted carefully to bring you a rewarding wine experience.

White Wines



Passage Rock Methode Traditionelee (Brut)

Made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, grown in Marlborough.  Aromas reminiscent of freshly baked brioche. Deliciously refreshing and toasty with a lemon sherbet finish. Fine Bead.



Passage Rock Rose 2016

Aromas of bright, early summer fruits, delicious days of summer captured.  A light vanilla creaminess merged with raspberry, redcurrants, cranberry and juniper.  A fresh, crisp palate of hibiscus, rosehip, raspberry and grenadine notes with a light, clean finish reminiscent of an early summer day. 



Passage Rock Sauvignon Blanc 2016

New Release beautifully aromatic Island estate grown Sauvignon with aromas of elderflower, guava, passionfruit, melon and crisp apple, gooseberry and a touch of honey.  A well rounded delicious mouth feel lands on a palate of apple, tropical fruits and ripe pears with a crisp acidity and a lingering finish.



Passage Rock Pinot Gris 2017

A deliciously aromatic wine with a clear sparkle in the glass, on the nose aromas of poached pear, lychees and pineapple blend seamlessly with a creamy vanilla pannacotta undertone.  Delightful mouth feel which entices the palate with a silky and lush voluptuosness.  Perfectly balanced with a gentle acidity and a soft citrus zest finish.  Sold out of the cellar door.




Red Wines



Passage Rock Sisters 2015

A distinctive blend of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot.  Warm and complex, an iconic Waiheke wine.  Cassis, berries, light florals and herbal character with spice undertones.



Reserve Cabernet Merlot 2009

Aromatic, firm and intense, a Cabernet dominant carefully cellared wine offers excellent richness and length exhibiting the best qualities of a premium aged Cabernet in the Old World style.  Caramel molasses, orange zest and cigar box cedar unfold to dark fruit preserves and vanilla on the palate



Passage Rock Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot 2014

Ruby and Carmine in the glass.  Excellent Vintage.  Exuberant rich Cabernet with expressions of coffee, eucalyptus, rosemary, juicy dark berries, cedar and cherry on the nose.  A rich vibrant palate bursting with red berries and vanilla.



Passage Rock Syrah 2015

Waiheke Syrah at its finest, our 2015 vintage exhibits a complexity and richness.  Aromas of dark cherry and muscatels.  Subtle flavours of Five spice and cherry with bright blackcurrant.  The palate swirls with creamy chocolate gateau characteristic, and a slight licorice whip, this wine has abundant staying power.




Passage Rock Reserve Syrah 2013

Dense, ripe, weighty Syrah from our select Reserve vines.  Dark Berry, dark chocolate, cracked black pepper and nutty oak.  Cedar and Vanillin undertones.  Dark, intense, full of power and with a velvety smooth finish.  Exceptional cellaring potential from an outstanding vintage year.



Passage Rock Magnus 2014

Estate grown, blended from our top 6 barrels.   Syrah Cabernet, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Montepulciano.  Bright, ripe fruits, deep and intense in the glass.  Wood violets and floral aromas, morello cherries and dark woody character.  Rich and complex on the palate.  Layers of flavour, great length, fine and silky tannins, a wine to savour now or perfect for cellaring.  A symphony.



Late Harvest Cabernet 2016

Creamy vanilla blackcurrant fool, festive fruits swathed in brandy aromas accompanied by dark ripe cherry.  Enticing, soft and full it explodes on the palate with a luscious voracity, raspberry, star anise and cinnamon.  Deliciously sweet yet clean and balanced with a bright cranberry and spice finish.
